I was asked to repair a mink teddy bear that a puppy tore up! Well I did repairs on a mink teddy my sister Cathies cats decided to shred several years ago, so I was sure I could help. After taking the bear apart and removing the joints which was a chore! I stitched the mink back together by hand, re-jointed the arm and leg and sewed the seams shut. It is now on its way back to its owner. Hopefully kept out of reach of the puppy.
My next challenge was to make a teddy bear out of 2 mink bodies for another customer.. The minks heads are pretty ugly, but I managed to squeeze a teddy bear out of the mink. The mink was in great shape so I didn't have to struggle with seams splitting. I think it turned out pretty cute!
